In the early 1900’s in the Salumeria’s of Little Italy, Patsy Lancieri perfected “Neapolitan Style Pizza.” In 1933 Patsy opened the city’s first Pizzeria Restaurant on 118th Street and 1st Avenue.   Patsy established himself as New York’s foremost pizza baker, inspiring scores of imitators.  As the first pizzeria in the USA to sell slices, Patsy’s was a place so well liked that people like Frank Sinatra would go out of their way just to get there.  Over 70 years later, Patsy’s Pizzerias still proudly serve his famous recipe, “old world style” pizza.  For all those not familiar with our pizza, please know that our pizza is true brick oven pizza, “coal fired” and made with all the love and care that our ancestors used many years ago in Italy.  Cooked at very high temperatures (close to 900 degrees) it comes to your table hot, crisp and with all the smokiness that only coal ovens can bring.  This gives our pizza a unique flavor that we are sure you will enjoy.

Patsy’s In Syosset
By Jonathan Greenspan

Over the summer, my family and I discovered a restaurant called Patsy’s Pizzeria.
It is more than an Italian restaurant. It’s a grea tpizzeria, too! It’s first store opened in Harlem, New York in 1933, butnow there is one inSyosset.

When you walk in, on your left is more of a party room, but they still serve food there because my family has eaten in that area before. On the right, you can see the chefs creating their mouth watering pizzas.

Not only is their food great, but also they have reasonable prices. For the kids menu they serve several items. For example you can have grilled chicken and vegetables, chicken fingers and fries, chicken fingers parmesan with spaghetti, spaghetti with meatballs, pasta with butter, and macaroni and cheese. While you are waiting for your food, they give out hot bread fresh from the oven. They also give you a bowl of olive oil with spices in it to dip your bread in, or you can ask for butter. The bread is so good that you
can not stop eating it. My tip is don’t fill up on the bread because the food is even better!
After the main dish, you have to save room for dessert. It is delicious! For dessert they have cheesecake, a choice of various cakes, peanut butter parfait, graham crackers, caramel apple smith pizza, granny smith apples smothered in caramel, coffee tea, and a lot more.

The food is great, the service is great, and everything about this restaurant is great! If you go to Patsy‘s, you will not regret it. You will want to come back everyday day. Trust me.
